![]() ![]() Like many on this post I suggest you pick up a gathering skill to earn gold: Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning. Don't get me started about the cost of artisan riding, but I consider that a luxury more than a necessity like the basic flying mounts.Ĭomment by DragnisFirst off riding skills is expensive to skill up. The costs might make sense for people who have been playing at the level cap for years and have just been accumulating gold but for a new played who started since WotLK it's really quite dificult. I have no idea how I'm going to do that with only 10 levels to go and only 350 gold at this point. Since there is no point in learning to fly at 70 anymore, at 77 I'm going to have to spend 2500 gold for journeyman riding, expert riding, and cold weather flying plus the cost of the mount itself. Now I'm approaching 70 and I don't have the money for both journeyman training and expert training. I did it to save money and because I didn't like the mechanostriders I was forced to ride as a gnome. I never trained journeyman riding at 60 since I got an epic-speed wintersaber mount instead which only requires 75 riding skill. Someone told me that they typically don't add flying in the newer expansions until some time after launch.īut it is frustrating for someone new and leveling to constantly gain the then have to re-earn flying in each expansion, which may be only a few days apart.Comment by 308599I wish you didn't have to learn journeyman riding before learning this skill. So far I still haven't gotten this one, which is furstrating since I went to Draenor immediately after finally getting flying in Pandaria. Draenor (90-100) - have to complete the Draenor Pathfinder achievement to fly in Draenor which requires completing a lot of other achievements. ![]() So I couldn't fly for most of my time leveling in Pandaria. Seems like I could only buy this in a level 90 zone (Vale of Eternal Blossoms) which you had to quest to unlock. Mists of Pandaria (85-90) - can fly with Wisdom of the Four Winds.I think maybe I bought Master Riding but might have just been for the speed boost. It seems like I couldn't fly in the early zones. Cataclysm (80-85) - I can't remember if I had to buy something to fly.Should also get Artisan Riding to fly faster. Wrath of Lich King (70-80) - can fly with Cold Weather Flying license.Burning Crusade (60-70) - can fly with mount.Classic Zones (1-60) - can fly with Flight Masters license. Here has been my experience from the last month: I can't remember if all these were required or just available at the time. Yes this has been very confusing to me as a new player as well. I spend a shit ton of fucking gold (I could have bought a new shield with that much gold) and the flying mount I just bought isn't even faster then my fucking horse! It just seems awful that I would hit lvl 60 and get this quest "I believe you can fly", which I wasn't even expecting. I just want to understand what's happening, if I can't fly that's fine. Well, I didn't find that at the store and all I have is the vanilla basic wow game. Someone in a forum said someone needed Cataclysm to fly. The thing is, I've seen people lvl 60 flying around me, so I think it's probably possible I suppose? I saw some people saying they needed flying, others saying flying ruined the game. I did some research and I see stuff about blizzard taking flying in and out of this or that area. Quite simple: I got lvl 60 for the first time, bought the mount and the flying ability (holy shit 200 gold), I was actually so excited that I bougt the same mount twice but didn't care.
